Team DAS is getting ready for the 2012 MTB season to get under way. Luckily for us New Englanders, it's been a mild winter so we've all been able to ride outside quite a bit. While indoor training can be efficient, we ultimately ride our bikes because we enjoy riding our bikes!!!
The girls managed to coordinate matching bikes. Not on purpose, but it happened to work out that they were all hankering for 29ers this season and DAS was able to provide the perfect bike in all of their sizes. So far, it sounds like they are all very pleased with their Specialized Fate 29ers.
Two weeks from today starts the season off with the King of Burlingame Time Trial. A few team members will be kicking off the racing with this one, but the week after that is the Root 66 series' Hopbrook Dam Race where most of the DAS racers will be tearing it up.
There's lots to look forward to this season. Racer Dan Biscup has finally conceded to the idea that he should be racing Cat 1 this season, and it is likely that Rich Gauvin will be soon following. Tracy Gustafson gave cyclocross a go last fall, loved it, and did well; she's ready to tackle mountain bike racing this season. Team manager and racer Crystal Gauvin has secured a GU sponsorship for the team, and we are all really excited about that.
Keep checking back here for all of the updates on how our races went and any other news we have to share!
